Procurement Officer                      Dublin                  €50-55k

The Procurement Officer will play an important role in forming and implementing the strategic sourcing operations and supply chains to ensure the team have the resources to deliver projects for their expanding client base.

Your core responsibilities will be to prepare accurate quantities and material schedules, sourcing and co-ordinating the supply of materials required for all projects, managing pricing and trading agreements and negotiating with suppliers.

The successful candidate will have a minimum of 3 years experience working in a similar role within the construction sector with a Mechanical or Plumbing background.

Summary

• Providing day-to-day support in the management of supplier agreements from gathering business requirements to placing orders
• Day to day liaison with suppliers
• Supporting or taking the lead on the negotiation of contracts/agreements with suppliers
• Ensuring that accurate records are maintained
• Supporting and developing the on-going monitoring and performance against defined targets of performance, cost and delivery

Requirements

• 3+ years experience in procurement or buying role in the construction sector
• Mechanical/Plumbing background
• Experience of negotiating and managing supplier agreements
• Can multi-task and manage time efficiently to oversee multiple projects at any time
• Is well-organized and maintains a high level of attention to detail.
• Good Financial and Quantitative skills
• Strong analytical ability and advanced Excel skills
• Ability to clearly communicate analysis results verbally and in written form.
• Good at managing internal and supplier communication
