Product Design Engineer - Galway

Product Design Engineer                   Gort, Co. Galway          €45-50K

A leading Manufacturing Company located in County Galway is currently looking for a Product Design Engineer to join their expanding team. The successful candidates will play a key role in support of strategic needs through new product development.

You will be tasked with providing effective processes including scope, concept generation and design throughout the development processes and to ensure the company remain a market leader within the industries they work in.

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Communicate with customers regarding technical aspects of the development of specifications for new products as well as supporting the review of customer inquiries for technical merit and feasibility.
• Assist in the development of project plans and proposals:
• Work with a cross-functional group including engineers, manufacturing, sales, purchasing and product management personnel to carry out project requirements in line with new product development processes and systems.
• Design of new and improved product for manufacturability and performance to customer requirements.
• Assist in compliance evaluation and documentation of technical files in regulatory issues.
• Development of technical design documentation from product drawings, schematics and product specifications.
• Creation of test qualification plans and product verification requirements alongside specification compliance matrices.
• Use of company supplied design and operational tools such as CAD and ERP systems.
• Apply metrics to monitor and verify success levels of projects.
• Provide technical support to internal and external customers as required.

Essential Criteria:

• Degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering.
• 3+ years’ experience working within an Engineering/Manufacturing Environment.
• Knowledge and understanding of using Automotive Product Design.
• Experience of using AutoCAD, Creo, MATLAB.
• Proficient in MS Office.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to work on your own initiative and in team environment.
