Job Title – Project Manager – Tier 1 Main Contractor

Project – Commercial Project

Job Location – Edinburgh    

Salary – Up to £65K plus industry leading package  

 

About the Company

Project Manager role with large Main Building & Civils Contractor who have delivered a range of commercial and industrial projects for high profile clients across UK and ROI.

This would suit an experienced Project Manager who has taken large industrial projects from field to handover.

Immediate starts available for the right candidate.

 

The Role

  • Coordinate and monitor and review construction drawings, specifications and work requirements.
  • Identify any issues that may arise during construction phase quickly and work with design team to overcome them in a timely manner and with little implications to project schedule.
  • Liaise with the design team to ensure works are completed according to the programme.
  • Report to and support the Contracts Manager to ensure smooth completion of project.
  • Inspect works completed by trade teams as required.
  • Direct and Manage personnel, site staff and subcontractors and manage and coordinate weekly progress meetings, workshops and plan actions.
  • Monitor construction to ensure quality of work and coordinate and liaise with Contracts Manager, Site Engineers and Service Coordinators to ensure all personnel have accurate and timely information.
  • Work closely with the Senior Engineer to ensure the quality of works being completed.

 

Requirements

  • Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering or similar (Third level qualification) is essential.
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience managing commercial or industrial projects for a Main Contractor.
  • Must be proficient in the use of different construction software and up to date with
  • Background in engineering is desirable.
  • Ability to effectively manage site programme and associated schedules to required deadlines and update the programme when necessary.
  • Experience managing high value projects over £10M from when the contract is awarded to handover to client.
  • Thorough knowledge of computer and database applications such as Microsoft Office and Project/PowerPoint with Excellent IT skills and good digital and visual presentational skills.
