Project Planner - Civil Engineering

Dublin based position

 

The Role:

Working as part of the site-based Planning team the role is responsible for programming, planning, monitoring, reporting, feedback and mitigation measures.

You will provide leadership for the planning and co-ordination processes and implement and maintain the requirements of the Project Business Plan. You will ensure that all programmes are compliant with the Project requirements and develop and agree a logical sequence of events ensuring that the most economical / advantageous construction strategy is adopted. You will analyse performance and advise the project team of likely impact and recommend improvements; ensure that the construction strategy and any recommended improvements are communicated and develop and feedback process improvement. You will represent the project / business with all stakeholders and co-ordinate for stakeholders, partners and supply chain all time related information. You will provide leadership, support and training, and contribute to career development and lead, delegate, motivate and train junior team members.

  • Experience of developing relationship with client representatives

  • Developing knowledge of strategic planning and project/ programme management systems
  • Understands how to establish and implement project control systems on a project to comply with the client system requirements
  • Able to coach and supervise others on project control systems, processes, project reporting and forecasting techniques
  • Able to analyse, collate and utilise a range of data and information for reporting and forecasting to the Leadership, Work Winning and Commercial teams as necessary
  • Developing own knowledge of the integrated project control systems, and processes on a project
  • Applies a working knowledge of the Project Management Systems and techniques utilised within the company and construction industry
  • Able to effectively use and operate standard project management computer systems with the ability to coach and supervise others in the standard techniques used with these systems
  • Able to use advanced systems and techniques in project management and produce reliable information to support decision making
  • Able to implement document control systems to required standards
  • Able to set 4D modelling for projects
  • Able to produce a Bid Programme and associated time related information as part of a tender bid team
  • Demonstrates the required techniques producing high quality Work Winning tender submission and can make effective presentations for the business leaders and client interviews
  • Aware of the processes and techniques to be considered in strategic planning
  • Aware of stakeholder interfaces and effects on programme

 

Your Experience:

You will have major project experience in the civil engineering industry, have led the planning and control functions on a project and implemented robust project controls.

It is desirable if you have a good understanding of construction techniques, have experience of managing staff development and coaching and have developed relationships with client representatives. Additional desired experience includes experience in contributing to pre-contact planning, work winning, and processes; project planning experience on civil schemes and knowledge of strategic planning and project/ programme management systems.

Qualifications

HNC / Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering or similar sector related and/or CIOB Membership
