The Company

Main contractor currently on the lookout for a purchasing manager in their head office in Offaly. They work within a number of sectors such as Residential, Commercial, Educational, Healthcare, Industrial, Hospitality and Fitouts. They have plenty of work on at the moment and need a senior procurement specialist to implement a system for purchasing materials.

As an experienced Purchasing Manager, you will be expected to show excellent negotiation skills and have the ability to maintain and develop relationships with new/existing suppliers. Brilliant opportunity for the right candidate that can bring the same level of professionalism and quality orientated details required for this role.

 

The Role

  • Identify and provide procurement support to the head of pre-construction
  • Coordination with the various internal teams for preparation of the company’s requirements for each project and working closely with directors and commercial staff
  • Contract preparation and negotiation
  • Lead all agreement negotiations and execution with relevant suppliers
  • Build and maintain good relationships with new and existing suppliers
  • Develop strategies to make sure that cost savings and supplier performance targets are met - or exceeded
  • Give presentations about market analysis and possible growth
  • Develop and implement a procurement strategy
  • Analyse data and produce reports and statistics on spending and saving
  • Prepare and agree final account settlements for the client or the contractors, by negotiation and dispute resolution
  • Develop and maintain monthly dashboard reporting showing performance against yearly procurement strategic plan.

 

What you need

  • 6+ years’ experience in related role
  • Motivated, driven and works well within team
  • Strong contract management ability and understanding
  • Strong negotiation skills with excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organisational and administrative skills
  • Good working knowledge of Procurement tools, systems and processes.
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office
