Quantity Surveyor – Letterkenny

Due to expansion and recent contract wins have been asked to recruit for a Quantity Surveyor with Civil Engineering Experience to join the commercial department of a well-established and growing civils contractor. Our client has an excellent reputation for delivering high quality civils projects at sites across the Ireland and the UK. As the you will be an experienced as a Quantity Surveyor with knowledge and skills in cost control of projects in the civils industry.

 

The Quantity Surveyor:

The ideal candidate will have a background in surveying for civil engineering projects. Alongside this you must be computer literate and able to liaise with many of the company's clients and suppliers.

 

Duties/Responsibilities include:

  • Estimating and preparing tenders.
  • Managing of subcontractor accounts.
  • Final accounts.
  • Monthly project cost and cashflow.
  • Monthly payment applications.
  • Both pre and post contract work.
  • Cost reporting.
  • Reporting to senior management/directors.

 

Skills

  • Able to read, understand and measure construction drawings.
  • Good communication skills (verbally and written)
  • Strong numeracy and financial management skills
  • Organisation skills and methodical approach to work
  • Ability to learn and manage design and costing IT packages
  • Ability to write clear and precise reports
  • Proactive problem solving

 

Qualifications and Training

  • A BTEC in Building Studies, Building Engineering or Building Management or a HNC / HND / Degree in Quantity Surveying / Construction Management / Civil Engineering (including an industrial placement) is required..
