Quantity Surveyor / Estimator
INFORM3 are recruiting for an established construction contractor working predominantly in the midlands and west of Ireland, who are highly regarded within our industry. Taking on a range of different contracts ranging from housing to commercial developments, usually in the region of £50,000 to £2.5million.
The Role & Responsibilities:
- Measuring and estimating for full take-offs
- Preparing valuations for interim application for payment including variations
- Preparing and negotiating final accounts
- Bill of Quantities
- Pricing variation orders and charging the client accordingly
- Monitoring costs to ensure budgets
- Preparing contract claims information
- Check-in with live sites to ensure all is running correctly
- Document control
- Understand the implications of health and safety regulations
- Negotiating costs and prices
- Attending sites at least once a month for valuations
- Applications for Payment
- General administrative duties
- Ensure contract cash flow is maintained
- Preparing quarterly forecasts
Skills Required:
- Management skills - basic programming, planning
- Knowledge of contractual procedures and responsibilities
- Good negotiation, influencing and communication skills
- Strong analytical and reasoning abilities
- Good organisation skills and attention to detail
- Confident and resourceful
- Evidence of maintaining a professional, consistent and fair approach
- Self-motivated with the ability to work alone or within a team
