The Company
A well-established building and civil engineering contractor in Wexford is currently looking for an experienced QS with some relevant experience to join their commercial team and help manage projects throughout Dublin. They manage numerous projects within different sectors of the construction industry including Commercial, Residential and Fitout.
Fantastic opportunity to work with a contractor that has been operating for over 60 years and has a great reputation within the construction industry.
The Role
- Liaise with customers and project managers
- Management of commercial and contractual aspects of relationships with customers, consultants and subcontractors
- Prepare tendering projects
- Preparing interim valuations, identifying and valuing variations
- Compile and issue invitations to tender, analyse subcontractor quotations and make recommendations for placement of orders
- Attend pre-contract meetings, liaise with a wide range of construction professionals, and ensure timely completion of jobs
- Assess subcontractor payment entitlement and process payments
- Work closely with contract and site management staff to support the smooth running of the office and the site, carrying out other duties as required
- Manage project performance and report to management team
- Ensuring accurate reporting
- Carry out reconciliation of cost and value to date/forecast to keep the management team informed of project performance
What you need
- Hold Degree in Quantity Surveying / Construction Management
- Motivated, driven and works well within team
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient in using Microsoft Excel and Word
- 5+ years experience
