Quantity Surveyor – Castlewellan
The Company
Civil engineering company is currently on the lookout for a QS to join their team. They do a lot of civil engineering and utility contracting services throughout Co. Down and surround area's. They do a number of Infrastructure and building projects for a range of government authorities and well-known clients. As an experienced QS you will bring your expertise and knowledge to support and assist the current commercial team. Fantastic opportunity for an experienced QS to come in and further their career with a well-established company.
The Role
- Liaise with customers and project managers
- Management of commercial and contractual aspects of relationships with customers, consultants and subcontractors
- Prepare tendering projects
- Preparing interim valuations, identifying and valuing variations
- Compile and issue invitations to tender, analyse subcontractor quotations and make recommendations for placement of orders
- Attend pre-contract meetings, liaise with a wide range of construction professionals, and ensure timely completion of jobs
- Assess subcontractor payment entitlement and process payments
- Work closely with contract and site management staff to support the smooth running of the office and the site, carrying out other duties as required
- Manage project performance and report to management team
- Ensuring accurate reporting
What you need
- Hold Degree in Quantity Surveying / Construction Management
- Highly motivated hard-working individual who can work on their own or as part as a team
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
- Great communication skills both verbal and Written
- 5+ years’ experience (Civils preferred)
