Quantity Surveyor
A busy contractor based in Co Louth is currently on the lookout for a QS to join the ever-growing commercial team. The role will be of a Junior to intermediate Quantity Surveyor reporting directly to the Senior Quantity Surveyor.
You will be expected to assist with management of several projects and assist with contracts management. You will also be required to assist with Site Works/Site Meetings/Site duties including capturing changes and variations to contracts and measured works.
This Contractor works in Louth and has few projects in Dublin so there is no need for any extensive traveling.
Duties
- The role will initially be predominantly focused around the delivery of projects based in Dublin or Louth
- Assisting with ensuring robust commercial processes are in place.
- Assisting with a number of live projects or projects at pre-implementation phase.
- Management and control of sub-contract accounts and variation accounts.
- Assisting and liaising with the buyers on materials procurement.
- Measure progress, assist in submitting valuations, final accounts in a timely manner.
- Attend project and company related meetings.
- To carry out any other reasonable duties assisting other member of the QS team
Key requirements
- An understanding of Civil Engineering or Building measurement principles
- Commercial awareness and the willingness to learn / be part of a team.
- A basic understanding of all main forms of Contracts.
- An understanding of general IT systems (Microsoft Office suite, Excel.
- An understanding of cost and contract management systems.
