Quantity Surveyor – Belfast

One of NI Irelands most recognised names in Construction is currently on the lookout for a QS to join the ever-growing commercial team. The role will be of a Junior Quantity Surveyor reporting directly to the senior Quantity Surveyor on a site valued close to £20M. there is 3 years secure employment working solely in Northern Ireland with this company.

You will be expected to assist with management of a large housing project and assist with contracts management. You will also be required to assist with Site Works/Site Meetings/Site duties including capturing changes and variations to contracts and measured works.

Duties

• The role will initially be predominantly focused around the delivery of projects
• Assisting with ensuring robust commercial processes are in place.
• Assisting with a number of live projects or projects at pre-implementation phase.
• Management and control of sub-contract accounts and variation accounts.
• Assisting and liaising with the buyers on materials procurement.
• Measure progress, assist in submitting valuations, final accounts in a timely manner.
• Attend project and company related meetings.
• To carry out any other reasonable duties assisting other member of the QS team

Key requirements

• Commercial awareness and the willingness to learn / be part of a team.
• A basic understanding of all main forms of NEC, ICE and JCT contracts.
• An understanding of general IT systems (Microsoft Office suite, Excel)
• An understanding of cost and contract management systems.
