Senior Buyer – Galway

The Company

Very exciting opportunity for an individual with strong experience within purchasing. You will have experience of managing teams and working under tight deadlines and timeframes in a busy environment.

Our award-winning client is extremely successful in their field, working across multiple fields within construction you will oversee the purchasing department negotiating prices, sourcing new suppliers, building and developing relationships internally and externally.

The Role

• Managing Purchasing department
• Negotiating orders and ensuring competitive purchasing
• Proactive approach with building relationships with new and existing suppliers
• Actively sourcing new products and suppliers to ensure competitive prices
• Establishing efficient working relationships with internal staff to assess purchasing requirements
• Technical appraisal of specifications and evaluation of supply chain offerings for technical, quality and commercial comparison

Criteria

• Degree in Construction related field
• At least 15 years within purchasing
• Experience managing teams
• Construction experience- knowledge of ROI market.
• Demonstrable knowledge of construction product and regulation
• Demonstrable experience of market research on pricing
• Excellent Negotiation Skills
