We are currently recruiting for a Senior Buyer to join our client based in County Longford, who are expanding their project portfolio and have a reputation for quality and innovation.

This is a great opportunity for a candidate who has 5+ years’ experience in procurement and strong negotiation skills.

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Engage in negotiations with suppliers to secure favourable agreements and competitive prices.
• Implement effective negotiation strategies to achieve cost savings.

• Oversee the phased-in purchasing of all materials within the company, with a focus on site materials and demonstrate and implement cost-saving initiatives for major expenditures.

• Establish and maintain strong relationships with both new and existing suppliers as well as conducting regular assessments of suppliers' performance and capabilities.

• Manage the company's internal purchasing system in accordance with company policies and ensure accuracy and timeliness of all purchasing information.

• Generate and provide requested reports, including quarterly spend reports and monthly KPI reports.

• Forecast price trends in the market and analyse their potential impact on future procurement activities.
• Supervise the work of other members in the purchasing department.

Key Skills

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a procurement or buying role.
• A recognised qualification in procurement or a related field.

• Strong negotiation skills.
• Analytical mindset for cost-saving opportunities.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Proficient in using purchasing and procurement software/systems.
• Ability to forecast and analyse market trends.
• Leadership and team management capabilities.
