INFORM3 are recruiting for an experienced Senior Civil Engineer to join a well-established civil engineering contractor delivering a range of major civil and infrastructure projects in Mayo.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Engineer with 5–8+ years’ experience to take a senior role within the project team. The role will involve responsibility for the technical delivery of works on site, working closely with the Project Manager, site teams, subcontractors and other project stakeholders.

Senior Civil Engineer Key Responsibilities

  • Take responsibility for the setting out and surveying of works on site.
  • Interpret and work from technical drawings, specifications and project documentation.
  • Carry out site measurements, surveys and as-built records.
  • Supervise and coordinate subcontractors and site teams.
  • Monitor works to ensure they are completed in accordance with drawings, specifications and programme requirements.
  • Manage quality control and maintain accurate site records.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to the site team.
  • Liaise with subcontractors, suppliers and other project stakeholders.
  • Prepare and review method statements, risk assessments and quality documentation.
  • Identify technical issues on site and ensure appropriate solutions are implemented.
  • Ensure all works are carried out in accordance with Health & Safety and environmental requirements.
  • Assist with progress reporting and project documentation.
  • Coordinate with the Project Manager and wider engineering team to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Mentor and support junior engineering staff where required.

Senior Civil Engineer Requirements

  • Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 5–8 years’ post-graduate experience in a civil engineering or construction environment.
  • Strong site-based experience with a solid understanding of construction processes.
  • Proven experience with setting out and surveying equipment.
  • Good knowledge of AutoCAD and Microsoft Office.
  • Experience using GPS / Total Station.
  • Previous experience in civil, roads, infrastructure, groundworks or marine projects would be beneficial.
  • Strong technical, communication and organisational skills.
  • Ability to manage technical aspects of works and resolve issues on site.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a wider project team.
  • Ability to work on own initiative and take responsibility for technical delivery.
  • Full clean driving licence.
