About the Role:
Our well-established client is seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to support the reliability, performance, and continuous improvement of their manufacturing operations.
Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, you will be responsible for the maintenance, troubleshooting, optimisation, and development of industrial electrical, automation, and control systems. You’ll work closely with Production, Quality, Safety, and Engineering teams to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable plant performance.
Roles & Responsibilities Include:
- Develop, modify, and maintain Siemens PLC programmes using Step 7 and TIA Portal.
- Diagnose and resolve PLC, HMI, WinCC, and automation faults.
- Troubleshoot industrial communication networks, including Profibus, Profinet, and Industrial Ethernet.
- Install, calibrate, and maintain instrumentation, VSDs, and motor control systems.
- Support preventative and predictive maintenance programmes.
- Lead Root Cause Analysis (RCA) investigations and implement corrective actions.
- Support plant shutdowns, engineering projects, and capital upgrades.
- Maintain PLC backups, software revisions, and technical documentation.
- Support FAT and SAT activities.
- Coordinate automation contractors and assist with project planning and scheduling.
- Ensure all electrical and automation work complies with safety standards, including LOTO and machine safety requirements.
Skills & Experience Required:
- Degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Automation, Instrumentation, Mechatronics, or a related discipline.
- 3–5 years’ experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Strong hands-on experience with Siemens PLCs, Step 7, TIA Portal, and WinCC.
- Experience with industrial instrumentation, process control, VFDs, motor control systems, and MCCs.
- Knowledge of Profibus, Profinet, and Industrial Ethernet.
- Strong fault-finding, diagnostic, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, P&IDs, and control schematics.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
