INFORM3 are recruiting for a leading civil engineering contractor, who is seeking an experienced Senior Engineer to join its team on a major infrastructure project in the Cork City / Airport area. This is an excellent opportunity to work on a high-profile civils project, taking responsibility for the technical delivery of works while supporting the successful completion of the project to the highest standards of safety, quality, and programme.

The successful candidate will play a key role in coordinating site activities, managing engineering teams, liaising with project stakeholders, and ensuring works are delivered efficiently and in line with contractual requirements.

Senior Civil Engineer Responsibilities

  • Manage the day-to-day engineering activities on site.
  • Ensure all works are completed safely, on programme, within budget, and to specification.
  • Coordinate site engineers, subcontractors, and direct labour.
  • Interpret drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
  • Oversee setting out and ensure accuracy of all engineering works.
  • Prepare and maintain site records, QA documentation, and daily reports.
  • Monitor project progress and identify opportunities to improve productivity.
  • Liaise with the Project Manager, design team, client representatives, and subcontractors.
  • Assist with planning, programming, and sequencing of works.
  • Ensure compliance with health & safety, environmental, and quality procedures.
  • Resolve technical issues and provide engineering support to site teams.
  • Mentor and support junior engineers where required.
  • Attend site meetings and contribute to project planning and coordination.

 

Senior Civil Engineer Requirements

  • Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience working on civil engineering or infrastructure projects.
  • Strong setting out and surveying experience.
  • Excellent knowledge of engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Experience managing subcontractors and coordinating site activities.
  • Good understanding of QA/QC procedures and documentation.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, and surveying equipment.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a project team.
  • Full clean driving licence.
