Senior Engineer/Agent

Inform3 are recruiting for a Senior Engineer to support the delivery of a major rail infrastructure modernisation programme involving multidisciplinary engineering coordination, systems integration, and infrastructure enhancement works within a complex operational environment for busy civils contractor.
The role will support project delivery from design development through construction and commissioning, ensuring engineering quality, technical compliance, and effective coordination across multiple stakeholders and contractors.
Senior Engineer/Agent Key Responsibilities:
- Lead multidisciplinary engineering coordination across infrastructure work packages
- Review technical drawings, calculations, and engineering documentation
- Ensure compliance with railway standards, safety regulations, and project requirements
- Coordinate interfaces between civils, track, signalling, utilities, and communications
- Manage technical risks, clashes, and integration issues
- Support design development, construction, and commissioning activities
- Review construction methodologies and engineering solutions
- Monitor contractor performance, engineering quality, and programme progress
- Support change management and resolution of technical queries
- Liaise with contractors, consultants, and project stakeholders
- Participate in technical meetings, workshops, and coordination reviews
- Support health, safety, risk, and quality assurance activities
- Prepare technical reports, progress updates, and engineering records
- Assist with project planning, sequencing, and constructability reviews
- Contribute to delivery of complex infrastructure upgrades within operational environments
Senior Engineer/Agent Requirements:
- Degree qualified in Civil Engineering, Infrastructure Engineering, or related discipline
- Experience delivering rail, transport, or major infrastructure projects
- Strong multidisciplinary engineering coordination experience
- Knowledge of infrastructure design, construction, and project delivery processes
- Experience working within complex or live operational environments
- Understanding of railway engineering standards and safety requirements
- Ability to manage technical interfaces and engineering risks
- Experience reviewing technical drawings and engineering documentation
- Strong stakeholder, contractor, and client coordination skills
- Familiarity with construction sequencing and phased delivery environments
- Knowledge of BIM and digital engineering coordination processes advantageous
- Strong communication, reporting, and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary project teams
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and common engineering/project management systems
