A successful Manufacturing Company based in County Sligo are currently on the lookout for a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to be a part of their team who will work with the Engineering department and be responsible for the design and implementation of automated equipment.

The successful candidate should have a strong educated degree level in relevant engineering discipline with 4+ years’ experience in a similar role.

Roles & Responsibilities Include:

  • To develop and maintain mechanical and electrical design drawings using CAD Software packages.
  • Liaise with suppliers for component procurement.
  • Ability to determine the operational requirements and be able to propose solutions.
  • 3D Design of Mechatronic equipment including mechanisms; transfer systems, servo systems, robotics, pneumatics, electrical equipment, and machine guarding systems.
  • Design and implement process improvements for existing automation equipment
  • Make sure that all design work is completed and to acceptable standards and confirmed with senior manager.
  • Produce mechanical designs from concept to production drawings in line with customer needs and business objectives.
  • Preparing detailed safety risk assessments and FMEAs
  • To complete all relevant documentation to the highest of standards and ensure it is accurate.
  • Communicate effectively with the manufacturing team to ensure that all projects are running smoothly and effectively.
  • Ensure all health and safety requirements are took into consideration throughout the design process.

Essential Criteria:

  • Experienced Design Engineer working within the manufacturing sector.
  • 4+ years’ experience within a similar role.
  • Degree educated in a relevant subject.
  • A strong sense of initiative and self-motivation.
  • Strong technical hands-on experience using 3D CAD Applications e.g Solidworks.
  • Experienced with Hydraulic and Mechanical systems.
  • Full UK Driver’s License essential.
  • Excellent use of MS Office.
