Senior Mechanical Design Engineer                                                                                                                                          Co.Down                                                                                                                                                                                         Salary: £35-45k

Our client is currently recruiting for a Design Engineer with 5+ years’ experience to join their team in the south of Co. Down easily commutable from Banbridge, Markethill and Armagh.

This role would see you assist in the continual development of their existing range of machines and you would help to maintain a continual flow of design to the factory floor.

Roles Include:

• Design new parts or assemblies to meet design requirements using 3D CAD systems.
• Produce full 3D design and manufacturing package for new and current products.
• You will be flexible across the board within the engineering environment which you will expose and gain more knowledge and understanding of the business and customers.
• Develop skills and knowledge to be able to help manage and design projects.
• Provide technical support to both customers, colleagues, subcontractors, and suppliers.
• Revise and update existing specifications and drawings to incorporate requested design changes from engineering, manufacturing, quality assurance and reliability.
• To liaise with the end customer to ensure that specifications are met.
• Investigate customer complaints and identify the root cause as well as find a resolution to problems quickly and effectively.
• Learning all aspects within the business to help you become more involved and gather experience to become more of an engineer.
• Creating and maintaining bills of materials.
• To work closely with colleagues and customers to devise technically astute and commercially viable product applications.

Criteria:

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering with experience in Heavy Industry Manufacturing
• Experience in 2D and 3D design software.
• Experience using and reporting on FEA
• Excellent analytical and practical problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work on your own initiative and as a team.
• Ability to work under pressure.
