Senior Mechanical Engineer                          Co. Cork                      €45-55K

A leading Automation company located in County Cork is currently looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join their expanding team. The successful candidates will play a key role in the design and development of company projects.

You will be tasked with providing effective and innovative automation product design solutions to ensure the company remain a market leader within the industries they work in.

This role will be based in County Cork but will involve some travelling to onsite facilities.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • To work with and report to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager and Design team on a day-to-day basis to ensure that the relevant work is to the company requirements.
  • Provide engineering supervision of operational decommissioning activities, ensuring compliance with design intent.
  • Design and prototyping of automation tooling and fixtures from concept to detail.
  • Design and prototyping of mechanical elements of cask handling and other material handling systems.
  • You will work on customer sites from time to time as required to support the installation and commissioning of automation solutions and as appropriate participate in handover to customer and customer training.
  • Continuously enhance, refine and develop mechanical design templates, reports, tools and methodologies.
  • Maintain a database of all the designs, references and related sourced materials ensuring that all the drawings are completed and documented accurately and are controlled and stored in a safe environment.
  • Produce accurate BOM’s, layout drawings and ability to meet those deadlines.

Essential Criteria:

  • 4+ years’ experience or Degree Equivalent in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Understanding and experience within design of Automated Machinery/Equipment.
  • Knowledge of Hydraulic/Pneumatic/Automation Technologies and Systems.
  • Knowledge and understanding of 3D CAD and Solidworks.
  • Experience working within a Manufacturing Environment.
  • Excellent Verbal and Non-Verbal Communication.
