Job Title – Senior Payroll Supervisor

Job Location – Co. Fermanagh

Salary – Based on Experience  

 

Role Overview:

Our client based in Co. Fermanagh are looking for an experienced Senior Payroll Supervisor to join their team.

You will be overseeing end-to-end payroll processing, ensuring accuracy, legislative compliance (e.g., HMRC/tax), and timely salary payments for staff.

Key responsibilities include mentoring junior staff, managing system upgrades, reconciling data, and liaising with HR/finance, requiring strong analytical skills and expert proficiency in payroll software.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and support payroll staff, providing guidance and training where necessary.
  • Review and approval of payroll calculations, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of payments.
  • Oversee maintenance of payroll records and systems, ensuring confidentiality and data integrity.
  • Resolve payroll discrepancies and address employee queries in a professional and timely manner.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory obligations (PAYE, NIC etc) including accurate, timely reporting and payment to HMRC and Revenue.
  • Stay up to date with changes in payroll legislation and implement necessary updates to procedures.
  • Oversee and fulfil obligations related to the organisation’s pension schemes including enrolment, record maintenance, processing and payment of contributions to scheme administrators.
  • Prepare payroll reports and assist with month-end and year-end processes including liaising with internal and external auditors.
  • Co-ordinate with HR and Finance to ensure seamless data flow and compliance.
  • Support payroll system development and direct system testing.

 

Essential Qualifications and Experience:

  • Experience in payroll administration, with prior supervisory or team lead experience strongly preferred.
  • Thorough understanding of payroll system and processes, relevant legislations and statutory obligations (NI and ROI jurisdictions).
  • Proficient in the use of payroll software and Microsoft Office applications (knowledge of Mega Pay and/or SAP SuccessFactors desirable).
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills as well as keen attention to detail.
  •  Ability to manage confidential employee and company information with integrity.
  •  Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
