Senior Quantity Surveyor (Civils)
Overseeing a large project just outside Dublin cc
A specialist civil engineering contractor is currently on the lookout for a QS to join the ever-growing commercial team. The role will be of a Senior Quantity Surveyor reporting directly to the Commercial Manager.
You will be expected to assist with the management of several projects and assist with some element of contract management. You will also be required to assist with Site Works/Site Meetings/measurements from site including capturing changes and variations to contracts and measured works.
Duties
- The role will be focused on the delivery of a large project based on a very well knowen site just outside Dublin
- Assisting with ensuring robust commercial processes are in place.
- Assisting with a number of live projects or projects at pre-implementation phase.
- Management and control of sub-contract accounts and variation accounts.
- Assisting and liaising with the buyers on materials procurement.
- Measure progress, assist in submitting valuations, final accounts in a timely manner.
- Attend project and company related meetings.
- To carry out any other reasonable duties assisting other member of the QS team
Key requirements
- A strong understanding of Civil Engineering principles
- Commercial awareness and the willingness to learn / be part of a team.
- An understanding of general IT systems (Microsoft Office suite, Excel.
- An understanding of cost and contract management systems.
