Senior Quantity Surveyor - Civil Engineering

Currently recruiting a Senior QS for a very well-known civil engineering contractor to work on some of their largest projects based in the Munster area. This is an excellent opportunity for the successful Senior Quantity Surveyor to joining a growing company with a strong order book of future work.
Immediate interviews
The role will involve:
- Preparation of interim and final accounts
- Manage day to day commercial and contract activities
- Sub-contract procurement ensuring maximum value for money
- Sub-contract valuations and final accounts
- Preparation of Compensation Events/variations
- Contractual correspondence
- Commercial reporting and cost forecasting
- Procurement of professional service for design etc.
- Monitoring contract costs against budgets
- Assessment and certification of interim and final payments to subcontractors
- Ensure all work complies with quality, safety and environmental policies and the requirements of the company procedure
- Managing and forecasting the cash flow of the project
- Ensure compliance with Contract schedule and provide weekly reports to construction team on planned versus actual progress
- Ensure the Construction Team is adhering to all Contractual Requirements and providing advice and monitoring of same
- Liaising and reporting to the Managing Surveyor and the Commercial Director
Individual Requirements:
- A relevant professional Quantity Surveying qualification or proficient management experience within the construction industry
- Ability to work clearly and accurately under pressure and tight timescales
- Ability to demonstrate excellent communication and organisation skills
- Computer literate.
- Effective communication skills, leading meetings;
- Ability to manage projects from start to finish;
- Ability to work autonomously;
- Ability to organise and manage time effectively, taking responsibility for own projects
- Highly motivated and driven to succeed
- Ability to work on a variety of projects simultaneously;
- Commercial awareness;
- Motivated and enthusiastic;
- Flexibility as required to meet business needs;
Requirements:
- Quantity Surveying experience 5 years +
- Civil engineering background (Highways, Structures, Utilities, Heavy Civils or Rail)
