Senior Quantity Surveyor – Co Down
A large and continuously growing company are looking for a Senior Quantity Surveyor who seeks to challenge themselves, to join their team. This exciting opportunity would involve reporting directly to the Commercial Manager in a role where you will be valued and encouraged to progress your current knowledge and capabilities. Large scale projects based in Ireland £20M +
Responsibilities:
- Assisting in estimating.
- Budget preparation for projects.
- Cost value statements.
- Subcontractor payments.
- Prepare quantified measures from drawings.
- Analyse direct labour Return sheets.
- Produce labour, material, plant etc breakdowns from tender submissions.
- Cash flow projections.
- General QS duties to give clear financial management of projects.
- Liaise with subcontractors in order to ensure sufficient resources are available and assist in the monitoring and evaluation of contractor performance.
- Monitor, reconcile and recharge any costs which relate to shared cost items with other offices as well as external companies.
- Have full commercial management responsibility for a number of housing projects across the region including the calculation and reporting of all costs and introducing possible value engineering solutions & strategy to optimise profit and efficiency
- Full responsibility for the procurement of subcontractors
- Collaborate with departments across the business to improve cost effectiveness and ensure timely delivery of projects whilst providing cost advice on any aspect of the build as and when required
Qualifications & Experience
- Construction related Degree / equivalent, ideally Quantity Surveying / Commercial Management.
- Previous experience within general commercial contracting is essential, previous experience within residential development is also desirable.
- You'll ideally be situated locally to the area and understand the geographical industry
