Senior Quantity Surveyor – Sligo
The Company
Medium sized building contractor has projects from the West to the East coast of Ireland, working on a range of different areas, from schools, universities, hospitals, healthcare centres, sports buildings, houses, you will focus on overseeing a couple of projects commutable to you.
There will be travel involved in the role to site however you will manage and prioritise your time, you will have flexibility to work from home if needed.
You will work for a reputable company that have experienced a lot of success in the last 20 years and there is good structure within the commercial team, taking on local skilled talent and working together to keep building on their client portfolio.
The Role
- Tender for projects to required margin levels based on Bills of Quantities, Drawings or Site Surveys.
- Produce budgets and cash flow forecasts for all secured projects.
- Negotiate best prices with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure projects comes in on or better than budget.
- Procurement of key materials to suit project programme.
- Carry out value engineering exercises and make cost saving proposals.
- Preparation of interim valuations and final accounts.
- Pricing and submitting of costs for all variations in a timely fashion.
- Ensuring contract correspondence is being responded to quickly and contractually
Criteria
- Relevant Degree in QS/Construction Management or equivalent.
- 7+years’ experience
- Management of pricing up projects independently
- Managing time effectively
- Excellent IT & Organisational Skills
