About the Company
Medium Sized Building Contractor with a reputation for delivering projects across the West. Work is predominately Galway with some jobs in Clare & Mayo Area.
They have a requirement for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor with a background in General Building/ Contracting to join their team in their office in Co. Galway.
The successful applicant will be working on exciting local developments with an experienced team - excellent company structure to allow for support and progression – keen to chat to ambitious quantity surveyors with a background in estimating who want to progress to Tendering Manager or Commercial Manager.
This role will be full time/ permanent role based in their office in Co. Galway (not Galway City)
The Role
- Preparing, negotiating and analysing costs for tenders and contracts
- Ensure sub-contractors are pre-qualified in accordance with management systems
- Procurement of sub-contractors and preparation of sub-contractor order documentation
- Assessing and certification of sub-contractor interim payments
- Assist with estimations for new projects and tender process.
- Re-measurement of Bills of Quantities
- Lead and provide support/ mentorship to a commercial team
- Carrying out Material Take-offs
- Preparation of Interim valuations and final account
- Managing and valuing variations
- Production of monthly Cost Value Reconciliation on contracts
- Establish, maintain and enhance effective working relationships
- Plan, allocate and evaluate work carried out by teams, individuals and yourself
What You Need
- Third level qualification in Quantity Surveying or Construction management.
- 10+ years’ experience with a Building Contractor in ROI or NI.
- Ideally will have knowledge and experience with Public Works Contracts
- Proven record of working on projects valued up to €10M
- Proficient in Microsoft excel and project
- Driven Team player
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
