Job Title – Senior Tooling Engineer

About the Company:
Inform3 are recruiting an experienced and proactive Senior Tooling Engineer to join our client’s fast-paced operation in West Co. Dublin.
The successful candidate will have extensive experience in tooling development, ideally within medical device manufacturing or another highly regulated environment. With a strong background in tooling design, validation and cost estimation, you will support both new and existing tooling, drive continuous improvement, and act as a key technical link between customers, toolmakers and internal teams.
Key Accountabilities:
- Manage the full lifecycle of injection mould tooling, from design review and manufacture through to validation and production release.
- Troubleshoot tooling and process issues, identifying root causes and implementing effective corrective actions.
- Lead and support tooling trials, first-off inspections and validation activities, including IQ/OQ/PQ where applicable.
- Lead the technical development and introduction of injection mould tooling for new product launches.
- Work closely with Production, Quality and Process Engineering teams to ensure reliable tool performance in high-volume production.
- Provide technical support to customers, including technical reviews, trials and problem-solving meetings.
- Drive continuous improvement across tooling performance, cycle time, quality and cost.
- Maintain accurate tooling documentation, validation reports and change records.
- Work closely with tooling vendors and subcontractors to ensure quality and project timelines are achieved.
- Ensure all tooling activities comply with company procedures, quality standards and health & safety requirements.
Essential Requirements:
- 7+ years’ experience in a Senior Tooling Engineer or similar role.
- Strong toolmaking background within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
- Solid knowledge of injection mould tooling, troubleshooting and maintenance.
- Experience within high-volume automotive, medical device, packaging or similar injection moulding environments.
- Proven hands-on problem-solving skills with a structured and analytical approach.
- Experience with tooling validation and production handover.
- Strong professional communication skills and the ability to work effectively across teams.
- Skilled in the use of machine and hand tools.
- High level of concentration and attention to detail, with a strong focus on safe working practices.
