We are currently recruiting for a Health & Safety Manager / Senior Health & Safety Officer for our client based in South Down. Our client is a busy manufacturing company that would be easily commutable from Banbridge, Kilkeel and Dundalk.

The client is seeking an experience and confident candidate with the ability to oversee their own team and oversee Health and Safety throughout the business.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Reporting to the Senior Management Team on all Health, Safety and Environmental matters
  • to support all departmental managers & directors on matters of Health, Safety and Environmental concerns.
  • Manage the company’s Health and Safety policies and procedures
  • Ensuring that all Health and Safety plans are continuously developed to current legislations
  • Oversee and ensure internal and external monitoring of environmental hazards such as noise, odour, and dust.
  • Conduct site inspections and complete all relevant paperwork and reports
  • Ensure that any incidents on site are reported and procedures are put in place to avoid future occurrences
  • Manage and develop the HSE Department personnel
  • Carry out COSHH and DSEAR assessments.
  • Ensure LOLER inspections are carried out as required at all facilities under Re-Gen holdings umbrella.
  • Liaise with internal and external auditors in regards to Health & Safety processes within the company
  • Prepare and coordinate training for all employees
  • Maintain extremely high standards of Health and Safety
  • Complete any other duties as and when required

Key Skills

  • Health and Safety Degree or Qualification
  • 3+ years’ experience in a similar position
  • Experience in H&S, Quality & Environmental Management Systems (ISO9001, ISO14001, ISO45001
  • NEBOSH OHAS Diploma or Certification
  • Minimum Graduate Member of IOSH
  • Able to motivate and manage Junior members
  • Excellent communicator
  • Confident in the use of Microsoft Office
  • Full driving licence
