Site Engineer – England

 

INFORM3 are looking to appoint a Site Engineer, for a Northern Irish Contractor on a project based in England. The successful candidate will work on behalf of a client who is a specialist in the Civil Engineering industry with a vast amount of experience and knowledge.

The client requires a candidate that is a self-starter and be innovative in their approach to the project. The successful candidate will be required to complete some surveying, setting out and site supervision work while keeping records of all site activities.

The candidate will need to have experience in working with concrete and specifically wet concrete.

 

Site Engineer Responsibilities:

  • Report to the Project Manager, as the Site Engineer you are responsible for overseeing structure activity and staff, ensuring compliance with company procedures throughout.
  • Management of sub-contractors, labourers and onsite staff
  • Management and control of plant and equipment
  • Management and control of health and safety issues
  • Understanding company policies with regard to quality and ensuring these are implemented at every level of works
  • Understand quality requirements from specifications and drawings and ensure compliance with both, on site
  • Keeping up to date site diaries and paperwork
  • Conducting Toolbox Talks and Health and Safety Briefings
  • Ensuring all staff receive full site inductions and briefings
  • Ensure competence of staff
  • Hold and/or attend regular review/updating meetings with the wider team
  • Provide regular updates on the progress of works to the site manager
  • To undertake any other duties as allocated

 

 

Candidate Specification:

  • Civil Engineer background
  • 4 plus years’ experience in a similar role
  • Strong numeracy and IT skills including MS Office, Word and Excel
  • Setting out knowledge
  • Experience in working with concrete
  • Commercial awareness
  • Full driving licence
