Site Engineer – Laois

 

INFORM3 are looking to appoint a Site engineer, for civil projects based in Laois. The successful candidate will work for a client with over 50 years’ experience in the engineering industry. The candidate will need to be great at communicating and coordinating site teams. They will need to manage site activity and interact with the client when appropriate. They will be required to undertake surveying, setting out and site supervision work while keeping records of all site activities.

 

Site Engineer Responsibilities:

  • Report to the Project Manager, as the Site Engineer you are responsible for overseeing structure activity and staff, ensuring compliance with company procedures throughout.
  • Management of sub-contractors, labourers and onsite staff
  • Management and control of plant and equipment
  • Management and control of health and safety issues
  • Understanding company policies with regard to quality and ensuring these are implemented at every level of works
  • Understand quality requirements from specifications and drawings and ensure compliance with both, on site
  • Keeping up to date site diaries and paperwork
  • Conducting Toolbox Talks and Health and Safety Briefings
  • Ensuring all staff receive full site inductions and briefings
  • Ensure competence of staff
  • Hold and/or attend regular review/updating meetings with the wider team
  • Provide regular updates on the progress of works to the site manager
  • To undertake any other duties as allocated

 

Candidate Specification:

  • Civil Engineer background
  • Excellent organisational communication skills
  • Team player, who has the ability to self-start and work independently
  • Strong skills with Microsoft Word, Excel etc
  • Setting out knowledge
  • Full driving licence
  • Commercial awareness
