Site Foreman

Job Location: North Dublin

INFORM3 Recruitment are recruiting for a Site Foreman to support the delivery of a major rail infrastructure modernisation program involving multidisciplinary engineering coordination, infrastructure enhancement works, and construction activities within a complex operational rail environment for a busy civils contractor.

The successful candidate will oversee daily site operations, supervise crews and subcontractors, and ensure works are delivered safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project specifications, programme requirements, and railway safety standards.

Site Foreman – Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise daily site operations across civil and rail infrastructure work areas
  • Coordinate site teams, subcontractors, plant, and materials to ensure efficient project delivery
  • Ensure all works are carried out safely and in line with project specifications and railway safety requirements
  • Organise daily work activities and communicate priorities to site crews
  • Monitor productivity, workmanship, and quality of completed works
  • Conduct site briefings, toolbox talks, and safety inductions
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality procedures
  • Liaise with engineers, project managers, subcontractors, and stakeholders on site activities
  • Assist with planning work sequences, access arrangements, and construction logistics
  • Identify and report site issues, delays, risks, or resource requirements to management
  • Maintain site records including daily diaries, labour returns, plant usage, and progress updates
  • Ensure materials, tools, and equipment are available and properly managed on site
  • Support inspections, testing, and quality control activities
  • Coordinate works within live or operational rail environments while minimising disruption
  • Assist with resolving on-site problems and maintaining programme progress
  • Promote high standards of housekeeping and site organisation

Site Foreman – Requirements

  • Previous experience as a Foreman, General Foreman, or Site Supervisor within civil engineering, rail, or infrastructure projects
  • Strong experience managing site crews and subcontractors on active construction projects
  • Good understanding of construction methods, site operations, and sequencing
  • Experience working within live or operational environments advantageous
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations and safe systems of work
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and site documentation
  • Strong organisational and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple work activities and meet programme deadlines
  • Experience coordinating plant, labour, and materials on site
  • Rail experience advantageous but not essential
  • CSR/CSCS/Safe Pass or equivalent site safety certification required
  • SSSTS or SMSTS certification advantageous
  • Full driving licence preferred
