Our client is a leading prestressed concrete company with a name synonymous with quality and due to a peak in workload currently require a structural technician to join their busy team. You will work as a fundamental part of a team under the guidance of the senior design engineers in the company.
Responsibilities
- The design of reinforced precast & prestressed concrete and the design of steelwork elements and connections
- Steel and precast concrete frame design
- Scheme design of various projects, converting to precast concrete option
- Utilisation of Tekla modelling and design software Tedds structural design software
- You will use iThesis prestressed floors design software
- Reviewing drawings and details prior to submission
- Site visits, design team meetings, report writing & presentation skills
Criteria:
- Bachelor Degree / Masters in Structural Engineering or equivalent
- 0-2 years’ structural design experience
- Core interest in reinforced concrete and precast industry with emphasis on detailing and engineering
- Good communication skills essential for team-based working
- Good time management habits, ability to multi-task, ability to sustain focus on long tasks
- Good sketching skills and an ability to communicate thoughts and technical ideas in an accessible way
- Excellent planning and organization skills required for our fast-paced environment
- Must be highly motivated, proactive and willing to take on new challenges
- Applicants must have fluent English and be eligible to work in Ireland
