Technical Design Manager
INFORM3 are pleased to be working closely with an innovative manufacturer who are the global leader in design, manufacture and installation of structural steel
They are a very busy company who need to recruit a Technical Design Manager. The ideal candidate will have experience in civil or building engineering and a technical expertise in structural solutions, particularly with concrete and steel structures. As the Technical Design Manager, you will be speaking to clients to offer your expertise in supplying quotes and designs in steel manufacturing. You must have knowledge and working experience within Building or Civil Engineering, with a clear understanding of managing staff and knowledge of structural calculations.

As a business, they have grown a reputation due to their versatility as they are able to locate crews, equipment and set up facilities all over the world to offer their clients the best possible service. Duties:
- Provide full technical solutions and design capability for client solutions, using bespoke designs structures, standard products and R&D products or procedures.
- Approve standards, including fixed assets ie lifting equipment.
- Be a good overall manager and company ambassador within the business
- Understand and supervise project specific manufacture UK & worldwide as and when required by the business
- Lead by example in personal presentation and actions
- R&D development within the business from concept though to inception
- Manage the projects draughtsperson, ensuing his/her efficiency and proficiency
- Produce accurate and commercially efficient bids and quotes
- Produce good efficient and cost realistic designs for projects
- Provide Technical reports for clients/in house as required
- Proactively develop a good working knowledge of QHSE and how it applies to the company and ensure these standards are adhered to within remit, R&D trials etc
Experience:
- Candidates need to be confident and capable of dealing with clients at all levels
- You will be able to develop a superior company/business understanding and be commercially aware.
- Must be able to always provide the best technical solution at the best cost.
- Have an excellent understanding of production manufacture process to ensure solutions can work and be able to supervise production where necessary
- Must have a superior and full technical understanding on structural calculations and coordinate using company in house calculations package and/or other software as necessary
- Candidates should have a positive approach and a good work ethic.
- Must have good problem solving and solution experience.
- Experience within the civil, structural or building engineering would be ideal.
