Job Title – Technical Manager

Job Location – North Dublin

Salary – €90K - €100K Based on Experience

 

Role Overview:

Are you an experienced Technical Manager within the Food Manufacturing sector? Then this is the role for you.

In this role you will be responsible for conducting professional audits in accordance with established procedures, maintaining a high standard of service delivery that ensures effective customer relationships, primarily for BRCGS (food safety) and non GFSI food related standards.

Ideally the successful candidate should have experienced in managing and leading teams with strong knowledge and understanding of food industry processing sectors and packaging manufacturing processes.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain, monitor, and update the Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) system and Quality Management Systems (QMS) to ensure compliance with legal and industry standards (e.g., BRC, SQF).
  • Oversee raw material, packaging, and finished product specifications, ensuring high-quality standards are met. Manage product testing, laboratory results, and shelf-life studies.
  • Act as the primary lead for external audits from customers, regulatory authorities, and accreditation bodies, as well as conducting internal and supplier audits.
  • Manage, coach, and develop the technical, quality assurance, and hygiene teams to foster a culture of food safety and "right first-time" quality.
  • Act as the main technical contact for retailers and food service clients, handling technical queries, complaints, and product specifications.
  • Ensure all labelling, packaging, and food ingredients comply with food laws and export regulations.
  • Drive improvements in production processes to enhance food safety, efficiency, and quality, minimizing waste and product issues.

 

Essential Qualifications and Experience:

  • Degree or equivalent - HND in Food or bioscience related discipline.
  • Must have a detailed understanding of the standards for which audits/technical reviews are being undertaken.
  • Strong knowledge of food legislation, safety systems (HACCP, ISO), and auditing standards.
  • 5+ years experience working within a Managerial role. 
  • Excellent leadership, communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with high attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills.
