Trainee Quantity Surveyor

INFORM3 Construction Recruitment has a new requirement with a highly reputable medium sized building contractor. The company has recently added 2 additional projects to their order book and now have the requirement for a Junior / Trainee Quantity Surveyor to come in a work along side a Senior Quantity Surveyor. In this position you will again experience working on projects up to the value of €10M, generally on new build commercial developments. Excellent training and development with this position and the opportunity to shadow a Quantity Surveyor who has been working with the company over 5 years. Attractive salary and package.

Duties

• The role will initially be predominantly focused around the delivery of projects
• Assisting with ensuring robust commercial processes are in place.
• Assisting with a number of live projects or projects at pre-implementation phase.
• Management and control of sub-contract accounts and variation accounts.
• Assisting and liaising with the buyers on materials procurement.
• Measure progress, assist in submitting valuations, final accounts in a timely manner.
• Attend project and company related meetings.
• To carry out any other reasonable duties assisting other member of the QS team

Key requirements

• Commercial awareness and the willingness to learn / be part of a team.
• A basic understanding of all main forms of NEC, ICE and JCT contracts.
• An understanding of general IT systems (Microsoft Office suite, Excel.
• An understanding of cost and contract management systems.
