Working Foreman – Joinery

We are looking for a Site Manager / Foreman with a joinery background who has experience on commercial and housing projects. With a number of recent project wins in Belfast this contractor can offer long term work at home. The first project you will be overseeing is a £2M apartment and housing site based in Belfast with a second similar project due to start in a few months.

Duties will include:

Leadership:

  • Managing and leading the site team on a day to day basis to ensure deadlines are achieved alongside programme and budget.
  • Chair daily/weekly briefing and review meetings to ensure all on site staff understand requirements including deadlines.

Project Management:

  • Manage resource levels and materials call-offs to maximise efficiency, prevent delay and control cost
  • Advanced planning and resourcing of labour, plant and materials to maximise efficiency
  • Successfully manage directly employed and liaise with our central office support team
  • Manage all site operatives, and deal with any discrepancies in line with company procedures
  • Attend to any timesheet or delivery ticket irregularities or inaccuracies raised by Supervisors
  • Ensure correct usage and storage of both internal and external plant and materials in line with company policy

Quality:

  • Ensure that all works are completed in accordance with the proposed designs and specifications
  • Working to and within the Company’s System, company procedures, policies and regular communication with relevant Contracts Manager and wider Management team.

Client Relationship:

  • Ensure strong working relationship with Client by attending regular meetings and maintaining regular communication
  • Undertake final inspection to ensure that programme delivery is complete

Communication:

  • Liaise closely with Labour Team to engage an excellent supply of local labour.
  • Attend monthly Management meetings to share information with wider operations team
  • Produce monthly report and updated programme
  • Delegate suitable responsibilities to team members and promote effective inter-team working across all functional departments

The Successful Candidate will have:

  • A minimum of five year’s experience of working on building projects.
  • A minimum of five year’s experience within a Construction Management position
  • The confidence and ability to lead, influence and communicate to an exceptional standard
  • The ability to work competently and independently
  • Resilience and the ability to work under pressure
  • A positive approach and the ability to hit the ground running.
  • Current Driving License
  • Current First Aid At Work
